Finished Lulu Baby Quilt!

Summertime is in full swing, and we're loving the weather here in Indiana.  My tomatoes are even starting to flower!

I'm excited to share this baby quilt with you today.  I've been holding onto a charm pack of Lulu by Chez Moi for a long time, because it's just so pretty...I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.  Well, after finding the some Lulu yardage at my local quilt shop, I had an idea.

I remembered to take a couple progress shots with this one. :D

Here's the layout on the tables my hubby made for my sewing room.  They are lightweight so I can move them around and use them however I need them at the moment. <3

I contemplated straight-line quilting for this or large, echo-ing flowers, but finally decided on an all-over swirling pattern.

I had a lot of fun with the swirls.  They were relaxing to create and satisfying to finish.

I found this great binding at the quilt shop...I just love a good stripe for binding.  <3

Now it's all finished and in the shop!

Fabric:  Lulu by Chez Moi for Moda, Kona PFD on back
Batting:  Warm & Natural
Dimensions: 32" x 32"

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have an awesome day. <3

Farm Girl Vintage Blocks 8, 9, & 10

Hello!  I've finally finished my big run of custom orders (I can't wait to share all of them with you), so I've been able to breathe a little and sew on some other things...like my FGV blocks!

I had the pleasure of attending a sewing event at a local quilt shop and decided that I'd use the time to work on something for me.  *gasp* ;)

The first block I completed was this Churn Dash block. This one was really pretty easy...as always, it was fun to pick the fabrics.  I'd seriously consider doing a larger quilt with this just this block.

The second block I made was the Corn & Tomatoes block.  I think this one is my favorite from the night.

My final block was the Cool Threads block.  This was a super fun block to make, but I did find that matching the corners of the "spools" with the "thread" was a little tricky.  It's for my bed, so I didn't fuss too much. ;)  I do think this is a particularly pretty block though.

So...here's my progress so far!  I'm still several blocks behind, but I should be able to start catching up with the rest of the group.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Have an awesome day!

Theater T-shirt Quilt - Finished!

Aaah!  I'm so excited to share this gorgeous quilt!  This was a special project for a super sweet and talented young woman who graduated high school this weekend.  She has a love for theater and the arts and took part in a lot of shows during her school time.

I wanted to add some special touches, so I did a funky feather-ish pattern in the border...

...and then finished it with large flowers on the wide floral border.

I was thrilled when I found the grey plaid in my stash..it made the perfect binding!

It's always a little bittersweet when I finish a quilt and pass it along to the owner, but she was so excited and happy she was with it made it all worth it. <3 <3 <3

I have some finished baby quilts to share with you this week AND some more Farm Girl Vintage blocks, so I hope you'll check back!  Thanks for stopping by!

Have an awesome day!
